"Digital Problems"
Mobile phones have been considered one of the most beneficial technological developments done by humans so far. Reducing distances and bringing people closer was the main purpose why mobile phones were made. Anytime anywhere connectivity! With changing times, the mobile industry saw a dip in the prices, almost negligible call rates, affordable cell sets and free net connectivity.
“Kar li duniya muthi me”. Facebook, whatsapp, amazon, linkedIn, all social media sites just a click away. Actually all sites just a touch away.
It was expected that people will make use of this technology in the best possible way. But what happened???
In the race of trend following, people have become so tech savvy that they forget there is a real world outside the virtual world in which they have submerged themselves. People these days are “preoccupied”. Going to meet a friend and rather than spending some quality time, keeping themselves engaged in the whatsapp chats and facebook timelines, makes no sense at all. For what good reason will someone plan a meeting with friends if they have to spend alone time sitting in the presence of the other.
Using phones or for that matter any gadget which consumes most of your attention, in the presence of another person (until or unless it is not very important), is a symbol of disgrace to the person in front of you. It shows that you have no interest in what the person is talking about. It also indicates lack of enthusiasm which should be present when two people meet informally. The point is, when it is an informal meeting or a get together, it is in no way any compulsion to go. When you are not interested at all, avoid showing your face in such situations rather than making people feel embarrassed or small.
Everyone has problems in life. And mostly the problems relate to one thing (directly or indirectly) i.e RELATIONSHIPS. Between friends, between parents, between parents and kids, between boss and subordinates, between colleagues, anyone. The root cause of the problem is a relationship itself, in 99.9% of the cases. Normally people don’t get a chance to avoid their problems, but when once in a blue-moon they get this opportunity, they normally don’t avail the opportunity. Where ever they go, their problems/issues follow everywhere (on cell phones). Calling them DIGITAL PROBLEMS won’t be wrong at any point of time.
Leaving the on-spot location and going away to cool off your mind and get a positive turn to your thoughts can be done. Instead, we take a break from each other’s physical presence and start texting, carrying the problem with us. Problems also have gone digital. Just take a break. Keep your phone away and give time to yourself to sort the problem out, first in your brain and then in real.
Problems might not be in our hands, but digital problems sure are..!! Keep them to the minimum..
