My PACE is mine alone!
“Kaam ho sa nahi raha hai us pace pe jisme hum chahte hain!”
Not only once, I have heard such statements from different people at different time for different reasons. But the major reason behind this is “expectations”.
Having a roadmap for self is very much needed, but come on, cut some slack for yourself. Even if you are able to achieve 70% of what was planned within the stipulated time, praise yourself for what you have achieved. Rather than comparing yourself with the other person who was not even in the competition. Your competition is YOU.
Imagine one day I wake up and start grumbling because Ambani has so much money or because Tata’s have so many branches across different domains or because ITC is expanding like anything, I don’t think it will do any good. I won’t be aware of the difficulties they faced, the situations they had to overcome, the type of people they had to deal with until they could achieve what they had to.
Had you been in the ten years before scenario, competing with these tycoons, who knows what life would have unfolded for you. But now, when that is not the case, take it at your own pace. Enjoying every step that you walk, just make sure you keep progressing. Remember that the ultimate goal is to achieve your life goals not to feel inferior by looking at others. Others can be a source of motivation for you, inspiring you to do all the more hard work that you can, making you learn from their mistakes; they can ease the path for you, but can’t walk it for you.
This is not just the case for a business. This is true for every life situation. Stop comparing. Walk at your own pace and enjoy it!
